Behind The Scenes of A Recent Commissioned Painting
The Commission Process
I had the dream of working with a dear friend and collector on a landscape for her newly renovated home. She wanted the painting to capture a sunset overlooking a creek in her childhood backyard utilizing pastel tones and loose brushstrokes.
After having her carefully measure out the location with blue painter’s tape above the mantel, I had her custom 30” x 60” canvas built and stretched and got straight to work.
I put together a mockup with the palette colors that she was envisioning along with examples of artwork that mimicked the style that I would channel.
Interior Design Team
Blue Print Interiors installed the grasscloth wallpaper in the dining room and the team at Dunbar Road did such an impeccable, tasteful way of showcasing & reflecting my collector’s true taste and style in the design and custom drapes. They are a full-service interior design firm based out of Dallas, TX, with an eye for detail & an appreciation for sophistication & well-balanced design. I wanted my work to complement their palette and aesthetic and not take away from their beautiful creation.
The Grand Reveal
After months of hard work, planning, and painting, I absolutely love how this painting turned out! Working with such kind, patient clients that have a clear vision of how they want their space to look and feel is so important, and I am so thrilled to have been a part of such a fun process!
