Current Interiors Inspiring My Upcoming Collection
Mark your calendars! I finally set the date for the release of The Porcelain Series - and now I have to hold myself to the release day: October 24th! Over the course of the upcoming weeks, I will post new journal entries ranging from the inspiration behind this collection to the history of Chinese porcelain.
I am so elated to finally showcase this series that I have created and to explain more about where my passion for this watercolor collection has derived from. Although the majority of the inspiration behind this series stemmed from our recent trip to Southeast Asia, I have to credit my family for much of the influence.
I grew up in a small town in Louisiana, where both sets of my grandparents lived within five minutes of my home. My mom’s mom had exquisite taste and collected stunning pieces of art, memorabilia, and fabric from all over the world. She especially treasured and amassed Chinese porcelain. As I grew older, I started paying more attention to her effortless taste and became fascinated with how ornate and beautiful these exports were. Because I was surrounded by Louisiana’s vibrant culture and this beauty for such a long time, color and detail have become a subconscious part of my work and art.
Along with studying the history of Chinese porcelain, I have spent a number of hours researching wallpaper and design by many interior designers. These interiors and hand-painted wallpaper bring me back to my grandmother and have significantly influenced my upcoming collection. Below is a compilation of stunning rooms that I could spend all day in.

Austin Design House, an interior design firm here in Austin, brings together both modern and refined styles throughout homes in an effortless way. A project between the two of us is currently in motion, and I cannot wait to see them work their magic!
Caitlin Wilson’s passion for detail and color completely resonates with me. After living in Hong Kong, her appreciation and love for detail turned into creating textiles for pillows and fabric and has now transformed into stunning rugs, wallpaper, furniture, and more.
