DIY Blue & White Table Arrangement
Create A Stunning Tablescape with These Chinoiserie Pumpkins
You do not need to be crafty to create this chic blue & white tablescape! This quick, easy, and affordable DIY project is the perfect Saturday morning activity (that the kids would also love) and will be a crowd please when you sit down for your holiday meal.
How to Create Your Chinoiserie Pumpkin:
optional gold paint
cocktail napkins (buy the large pack so you have leftovers for the day-of drinks!)
The first step is optional, but in my opinion, it really completes the final look. Paint the stems of each pumpkin gold. This will really make the pumpkins pop & appear to be a bit more elegant.
Secondly, you’ll paint the entire pumpkin with a layer of mod podge.
Then, put the napkin directly over the stem, creating a little hole for the stem to pop through. By starting from the top of the pumpkin, press the napkin gently down without creasing, until it folds underneath the bottom of the pumpkin. I like to cut a little of the access napkin off at the bottom of the pumpkin, but this isn’t necessary.
Let it dry for a bit, and voila! You are done!
*Pro-tip: I bought a larger pack of napkins, which I can’t wait to serve alongside on Thanksgiving with appetizers and cocktails!
Tips on How to Create the Perfect Piece:
Put your paintbrush in water immediately after using the glue! Be sure to scrub it well with soap and warm water once you are finished.
Have paper plates underneath you as you work (using something like newspaper makes a mess when adhering things).
I like to take the stem completely out of the pumpkin and then put back in place after I’ve adhered the cocktail napkins.
Use napkins that will go with your table decor! You don’t have to choose blue and white. This, this, and this are all napkins I think would be fun to try.
Have scissors on hand to cut any access napkin.
If you mess up, just take off the paper and apply a new one!
Have fun and don’t stress!
