Adventures in Atlanta

A Guide to Atlanta

Things to Do:

  • Georgia Aquarium

  • Atlanta Botanical Gardens

  • World of Coca-Cola

  • College Football Hall of Fame

  • Ponce City Market

  • Piedmont Park

  • Atlanta BeltLine

Areas + Places to Eat:

The Garden Room at The St. Regis Hotel is breathtakingly beautiful!

  • Buckhead: Upscale community and beautiful homes with high-end shopping known as the “Beverly Hills of the East”

    • The Garden Room: located at the St. Regis Atlanta, a beautiful bar area adorned in flowers.

    • Henri's Bakery & Deli: cute place that has great coffee along with soups and sandwiches.

    • Superica: great Tex-Mex food! Also located in the Krog Street Market.

  • Inman Park:

    • Krog Street Market: Cool urban food hall and shops! Smaller than Ponce City Market. I love popping in The Merchant there, and for food I'd recommend:

      • Superica for Tex-Mex (also mentioned above in the Buckhead section)

      • Gu's for dumplings

      • Varuni Napoli for pizza

      • Recess for healthy bowls

    • Victory Sandwich Bar: neat vibes along with being inexpensive!

At Spotlight on Art, a yearly fundraiser art exhibition that features hundreds of amazing artists.

  • Midtown / Virginia Highlands :

    • Ponce City Market - a very old, massive renovated warehouse that has been converted into neat shops and restaurants. They have every kind of cuisine under the sun there. Below are great food recommendations along with places that are great for being solo:

      • Ton Ton (Ramen)

      • Botiwalla (Indian street food)

      • Bellina Alimentari (Italian)

*They have some chain shops like Anthropologie and Madewell, but for local stores I'd go to Citizen Supply, Candlefish, and Archer Paper Goods.

    • Walk along the BeltLine - urban walkway that you can enter via Ponce City Market. Cool views of the city and street art. New Realm is a rooftop brewery that is really fun and has amazing views of the city. Ladybird is also great - camp-themed casual restaurant that is notorious for amazing day drinking / running into people. Victory and Cold Beer are also local favorites.

    • Paris on Ponce: really cool antique store on the BeltLine, maybe a 2-minute walk from Ponce City Market. Unfortunately it suffered a fire in 2019 and was under construction at the time we visited.

    • Piedmont Park - beautiful views of the city and a pretty lake, one of my favorite places in Atlanta to walk around!

  • West Midtown: The whole Westside Provisions District is awesome! You can basically put in one of the below locations and then just wander from there, but some of my favorites are below...

    • JCT Kitchen: I have friends that have driven from Savannah just to eat her. This is a must on your trip to Atlanta!

    • Forza Storica: delicious Italian food

    • Brash Coffee: amazing coffee in a cool little standalone building

    • Jeni's: technically a chain with amazing ice-cream, but it is an Atlanta favorite.

    • Gregg Irby Gallery is not a far drive from any of these places and features amazing artists and artwork.
