  • Favorite pieces from each collection I created:

    • The Figure Studies Series:

      • During COVID, I ached for a creative community that just couldn’t be achieved virtually. Thankfully, I attended a bi-weekly figure painting class for the first few months of 2021 (in a socially-distanced manner). I didn’t realize how much I missed meeting with other creatives, being able to kindly criticize each other’s work, and paint for hours on end listening to soft jazz music. It’s become the getaway place that I desperately yearned for and fueled my soul. Will and I had just gotten back from Colombia before the world shut down, and one of my favorite pieces in this series, Cartagena Stroll, was inspired by the vivid colors of Cartagena.

    • The Modern Landscape Series:

      • Being someone that is heavily influenced by travel, finding inspiration throughout this past year was quite challenging. However, it caused me to do a lot of reflection & reading from past trips & served to be a large inspiration for this body of work. A Leisurely Lunch has been one of my hands-down favorite pieces I’ve ever created due to the movement, texture, and lush colors.

    • The Abstract Orchid Series:

      • I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to partner with the incredible Well+Wonder collective this year. Being represented by this fab team has been on my bucket list for years, & I'm ecstatic for my work to be recognized through such a distinguished online gallery. I created rounds of artwork inspired by my first Orchid series back in 2017/2018, & I absolutely loved this collection. I absolutely love the pops of orange and subtle moments of charcoal peeping through Peachy Green, although this entire collection was a favorite of mine.

  • This print was the most favorited among collectors:

  • A favorite medium I tried my hand at this year: These water-soluble oils are not only a healthy alternative to painting with oil paints, but I love the flow & viscosity of these paints.

Goal Reflecting & Setting:

  1. Goals that I set and met:

  2. Goals that I didn’t particularly meet:

    • I had hoped to paint larger scale pieces of work, and I feel that I only painted a handful of large pieces.

    • We had hoped our studio would be built in early 2021, but as many can relate to, the delays between COVID and heavy growth in Austin caused a few obstacles that we are still trying to overcome.

  3. Goals that I hope to achieve in 2022:

    • While navigating motherhood will most definitely be a whole new chapter for me, I plan to expand my brand into more accessories (stay tuned for a fun springtime offering!) and hope to release more intentional work.

    • I have always had intentions of teaching, and I’m hopeful 2022 will be the year I can finally execute an online course!

    • I have a problem with saying yes, especially to things I am not lit up by, and because my time will be more limited with a baby, I am striving to say no to work that doesn’t align with my overall vision.

Wishing you a wonderful, safe Happy New Year!! I would love to know what goals you have set for next year and ways you hope to achieve them! I am SO excited for all that 2022 has in store and look forward to bringing more color to the world this upcoming year.

Until next time,
